The team of the component 2 (soil regeneration, of the ECDD project in collaboration with the Institut de Recherche en Sciences Appliquées et Technologies -IRSAT-Bf carried out an inventory of the vegetation cover and water bodies on the Nimbrogo gold mining site in the commune of Ziou in the Nahouri province from 16 to 22 May 2022 before the implementation of phyto-remediation using the ChrysopogonZizaïnodes plant.
Indeed, this inventory will allow to appreciate the state of depollution of the site after the intervention of the project in the area.

Phytoremediation is an approach that involves the use of plants (in our case Chryzopogon zyzaïnodes) to extract and eliminate elemental pollutants in the soil. It is an environmentally friendly, low maintenance and most importantly, very cost effective way to combat environmental pollution.
